Our story
Siya Kumar grew up surrounded by dogs. They were never just pets to her: they were family, teachers, and part of her world.
She trained under her mentor, Shirin Dhabhar, at Canines Can Care Institute, and became a certified dog trainer and behaviour specialist.
Max, her Indie, is the inspiration and mascot of Bombay Bark Company. For Siya, he stands for the resilience, intelligence and individuality of Indian dogs.
She started Bombay Bark Company with two partners who see pets the way she does: as their children. The idea was to bring experienced specialists from across the pet world under one roof, in Khar West, so you know your dog is in the right hands.

“Bombay Bark Company is a space where you can leave your dog and know that they are in the best of hands. I am Siya Kumar, I am a certified trainer and behaviourist. This is Bombay Bark Company. It's a multi-pet service that offers grooming services, [the video shows a groomer blow-drying a Saint Bernard on the grooming table] one-on-one training sessions, as well as behaviour consultations. [Siya walks a black dog through a training room] I had this concept in my head for a couple of years. I think I was lucky, because my partners are both like-minded people. We view pets as our children, [a small dog trots across the floor] and we wanted to have a very safe space close to home, which offers everything that we want to give our dogs. Everybody in this space has dogs and pets of their own. We are all dog lovers, we are all animal lovers, and we all come from a background of dog behaviour.” [the Bombay Bark Company logo]
